Search by reference number
To use this option enter the unique reference number of the memorandum you are looking for into the field below and select search. If you don't know the reference number, please use the ‘search by keyword(s)’ facility.
Making sure that you do not enter blank spaces, here are examples of the format you must use:
- Council document reference – This consists of either four or five digits followed by forward slash then year in YY format eg 1234/07 or 12345/07
- Commission COM document reference – COM prefix is used for published documents proposing legislation and for other Commission communications to the Council and/or the other institutions, and their preparatory papers. The reference number consists of COM(YYYY) where Y is the year, followed by three digits eg COM(2007)001, COM(2007)012 or COM(2007)123
- Commission SEC document reference – SEC prefix is used for internal documents associated with the decision-making process and the general operation of Commission departments; many of these are published. The reference number consists of SEC(YYYY), where Y is the year, followed by up to four digits eg SEC(2007)0001, SEC(2007)0012, SEC(2007)0123 or SEC(2007)1234
